Course Description:
This course is an extension of Calculus I (MAT 122), and treats techniques of integration and its applications, with emphasis on the meaning of the symbols used and the interpretation of results. Sequences and series are covered, including power series. Modeling using differential equations whose variables are separable are discussed.

Prerequisites:
Students must have satisfied all MAT, ENG and RDG 001 remediation requirements prior to starting the course. Students must have achieved at least a C in Calculus I (MAT 122). It is strongly advised that the student have taken Calculus I not more than two semesters ago.

Required Materials:
  • Text: Calculus (Single Variable), 5th ed. by Hughes-Hallet et al., published by Wiley
  • Calculator: A Texas Instruments TI-8x calculator is recommended although calculators will not be allowed during the exams.
Grading:
  • 25% Homework: Homework will be assigned and collected on a weekly basis.
  • 40% 2 Midterm Exams (20% each)
  • 35% Final Exam
  • A schedule of homeworks and exams is available below.
Homework is to be handed in at the beginning of class on the day it is due. Late homeworks will not be accepted without permission in advance.

Math Center: Assistance is available in the Mathematics Center: B-130. You should prepare your questions thoughtfully and concisely in advance.
