| Grade Policy: |
There will be 2 in class exams plus a cumulative final. Each exam is worth 100 points and the final is worth 200 points. The lowest 100 points of the exams will be dropped. There will 100 points of quizes and projects along with 100 points of programming assignments. Assignments and projects submitted after the due date but prior to the assignment being graded may be subject to a late penalty.
Sample Grade Calculation: Exam 1: 85/100, Exam 2: 80/100, final 140/200.
Since the final (70/100) is the lowest grade, the grades used are 85+80+70 = 235
Projects/Quizes: 85/100
Programs: 90/100
Total: 235+85+90=410/500,
Final average: 82,
Final Grade: B

| Withdraw Policy: |
A W can be obtained up the day of the final. Once the final has been taken, no grade of W will be assigned. After the date of automatic W, it is the students responsibility to obtain, complete and a submit a Withdrawal form available from the registrar.

| Attendence Policy: |
More than 3 absences may result in being dropped from the course. Students arriving late to class may not be allowed to enter and / or be marked absent. See the college catalog for further details.

| Make Up Exams:
There are no make up exams / quizzes. Make up exams / quizzes may be granted in the case of extreme and documented situations. Make up exams / quizzes may differ in style and content from the exams / quizzes given in class and may occur at a later time in the semester. Under certain circumstances, doubling of another exams / quizzes may replace the missing exams / quizzes .

| Programming Assignments: | In addition to program comments, all programs MUST have a comment block that states your name, course and section (or days meeting), assignment number, text book page and problem number if applicable and a brief description of the assignment.
No program or project will be accepted once it has been graded or listed as graded on the assignment page. The date a project is graded will be listed on the assignment page. Assignments submitted after the due date but prior to the assignment being graded may be subject to a late penalty. Once an assignment has been graded, a notation to that fact will be made on the assignment page.

| Electronic Submission of homework: | Homework is to be submitted electronically via Internet email. Source code only is to be mailed to dm241g1@gradient.sunynassau.edu for day classes and em241ea@gradient.sunynassau.edu for the evening section. Only assignments submitted to that account will be considered for a grade. The subject of the assignment must be dm241g1 prj number, where number is the project number listed on the assignment page. This is an automatic response system. Please read the response sent back to you. |
