| Grade Policy: |
|
There will be 2 or 3 in class exams plus a cumulative final. Each exam is worth 100 points and the final is worth 200 points. The lowest 100 points will be dropped. There are no make up exams. A missed exam will be assigned a zero and may be used as the lowest exam grade. Make up exams may be granted in the case of extreme and documented situations. Make up exams may differ in style and content from the exam given in class and may occur at a later time in the semester. It is my discretion that in certain circumstances, doubling of another exam may replace the missing exam. There may be additional assignments that will be factored into the grade. No homework, program or project will be accepted once it has been graded. Assignments submitted after the due date but prior to the assignment being graded may be subject to a late penalty.
Sample Grade Calculation: Exam 1: 85/100, Exam 2: 80/100, Exam 3: 90/100, final 140/200.
Since the final (70/100) is the lowest grade, the grades used are 85+80+90+70 = 325/400
Final Grade: 325/400 = 81 = B
|
| Calculator Policy: |
The required calculator for this course is the Texas Instrument 85 Graphing Calculator (TI-85). Calculators (example: TI-92), computers or technology capable of symbolic manipulation are NOT permitted and are NOT to be used during examinations.
|
| Withdraw Policy: |
A W can be obtained up the day of the final. Once the final has been taken, no grade of W will be assigned. After the date of automatic W, it is the students responsibility to obtain, complete and a submit a Withdrawal form available from the registrar.
|
| Attendence Policy: |
More than 4 absences may result in being dropped from the course. Students arriving late to class may not be allowed to enter and / or be marked absent. See the college catalog for further details.
|
| Plagiarism: |
Any one caught plagiarizing, requesting or supplying assignments for the purpose of plagiarism or cheating will receive a zero for that assignment or exam and will be subject rules and regulations outlined in the college catalog.
|
| Make-up Exams: |
There are no make-up exams. A missed exam will be assigned a zero and may be used as the lowest exam grade. In some instances, make-up exams may be granted in the case of extreme conditions. Make up exams may differ in style and content from the exam given in class and may occur at a later time in the semester. Under certain circumstances, doubling of another exam may replace the missing exam. All requests for make-ups must be accompanied by appropriate documentation stating the reason for absence. If a make-up is granted, the exam may or may not reflect the material from the missed exam. It could entail prior material and/or new material.
