NYSMATYC's Mathematics Contest

The New York State Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges (NYSMATYC) is sponsoring a statewide math contest. The Contest is a one-hour long test consisting of twenty challenging questions. Students receive four points for a correct answer, no points for answers left blank and a negative point for incorrect answers. To get an idea of the type of questions on the test, old exams and their solutions are available at http://www.nysmatyc.org/league/oldexams.php. The NCC contest is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15th, 2011 during club-hour (11:30 AM - 12:45 PM) in room B 218. Prizes will be awarded for top finishers. The prizes will be as follows:
  • TI-89 for 1st place this semester
  • TI Voyage 200 for 1st place this academic year (cumulative score from last semester and this semester)
  • MAT/CSC/ITE flash drives for 1st - 5th place this semester
Students are encouraged to sign-up for this contest. A sign-up sheet is posted outside the Math Center (B-130).
